Obituary of Ronald D. Busbey
Ronald D. Busbey, age 58, of Morris and formerly of Joliet, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at home with his family by his side. Ron was born and raised in Joliet, IL on July 20, 1964. He grew up in the Ridgewood area and graduated from Joliet East High School, Class of 1981. He was employed with Hoffman Transportation for the last 17 years. He spent his free time with his family and was an animal lover. He enjoyed painting and bodywork on classic cars and was an avid Native American Art collector following in his father’s footsteps.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine (nee Bolte) Busbey of 31 years; his children, Amanda (Brandon) Olkiewicz (Busbey), Sheri (Bob) Tonkovic, and Renae Abbott; his sisters, Bonnie (Kenny) Oleschlager and Barb (Rick) Hoggren; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Juliet Tonkovic and Sophia Cervantes and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by his parents, Ronald and Judith (Moreno) Busbey, and his baby sister, Rosemary Busbey.
As it was Ronald’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded and his final earthly remains will be placed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at 2 p.m. Thursday July 20, 2023. For all wishing to attend a brief service of remembrance for Ron, please arrive at the Cemetery information center at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday.
