Anne G. Bajek
(nee Kohut)
Age 80, of Channahon and formerly of Berwyn, passed away peacefully, Thursday March 31, 2011 at her home with family by her side. She was born July 25, 1930 in Chicago to the late Gizella (Foltan) and Steven Kohut.
Beloved wife of 58 years to Robert; loving mother of Thomas (Cathy), Philip (Patty), Janet (Jerry) Lizalek and Susan (Marc) Rohde; dearest grandmother of 19; fond sister of the late William (Lillian) Kohut and sister-in-law of the late Walter (Rosemary) Bajek. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Anne attended the University of Illinois and Roosevelt University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree. She was the head of the Chemistry Dept. at Mt. Sinai, Chicago, and after raising her family she became librarian at District 100 in Berwyn. A member of FCSLA, she enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, but her passion was spending time with her loving, devoted husband and family.
Visitation Monday, April 4, 2011 from 3-9 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington), Joliet. Funeral Tuesday 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Catholic Church, 303 W. St. Mary St., Minooka, Mass 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Waterstone Circle, Joliet, IL. 60436, would be appreciated.
