Obituary of James A. Donick
Age 61, of Diamond, IL passed away Thursday evening at Lightways Hospice Home of Joliet after a valiant battle against cancer.
Chip was born on February 17, 1962 to the late Shirley and James Donick in Joliet, Illinois. He attended Hufford Junior High and graduated from Joliet West High School.
He is survived by his siblings, Debra (Eugene) Gruber, Cindy (Sam) Serrano, Dean (Kristi) Donick, Dawn (John) Gallagher and sister-in-law, Liz Donick. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Chip is also preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas and Gary Donick.
Chip was employed for many years by PT Ferro as a truck driver. He was a member of Teamsters Local #179. His family will be eternally grateful for the support and friendship afforded Chip by his co-workers and friends at PT Ferro.
Visitation for James “Chip” Donick will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. A prayer service will conclude the evening on Tuesday, beginning at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
