Obituary of Elizabeth Honiotes

Honiotes, Elizabeth "Liz" (nee Calamaras) Age 84. At rest Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center with her family by her side. Born in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Paraskavas and Catherine (Bonas) Calamaras. She was a lifelong resident and a lifelong member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Liz was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Survived by two daughters, Cathy (Steve) Rittof of Channahon and Ellen (Bruce) Caponi of Joliet; three sons, John Nick (Debbie) of Joliet, Peter Nick (Michelle) of Joliet and Nick Nick (Carol) Honiotes of Channahon; 13 grandchildren, David (Shannon) Kilgos, Nicole (Jeff) Kilgos, Steve (Stacy) Rittof, Mathew (Erin) Rittof, Heather (Tom) Leffers, Stephanie (Mike) Vangelisti, Nicholas J. (Kristy) Honiotes, Courtney (Chad) Morrison, Nicholas P. Honiotes, Kilynn Honiotes, Nicholas S. (Jessica) Honiotes, Thaila (Richard) Durst, Alice McGlaughlin; great-grandchildren, Angel, Gabriel, Kylie, Abigail, John Nicholas "L.J." II, Nina, Nathan, Colton, Patrick, Zane, Jesse, Benjamin, Amanda, Zachary, Joseph, Bennett and Emma; six great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Angelo Aggelopoulos, her lifelong friend, Evelyn Contos; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Preceded by her loving husband, Nicholas J. Honiotes (2007); three sisters, Jenny (Jim) Honiotes, Dee (Joe) Chizmark and Irene Aggelopoulos; one brother, George Calamaras. Funeral Services for Elizabeth Honiotes will be Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church for services at 9:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
