Robert F. Truty, Sr.

Age 83, of Morris, Illinois passed peacefully at the Gardens of Park Pointe, Wednesday December 20, 2023.

He was born August 27, 1940 to the late Rita (Kavanaugh) and John Truty in Morris.  He was a graduate of Morris Community High School and earned a bachelors degree from the University of Illinois.

Surviving are three sons, John Edward "Jay" Truty, Robert F. Truty, Jr., and Daniel T. Truty; three grandchildren, Grace Suzanne, Hunter Daniel and Aubree Elaine Truty; brother, Phil (Jo) Truty and two nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha (Tobin) Truty; his parents and one brother, Jack Truty.

A retired Airline Pilot for United, Bob truly enjoyed his 36 year career in the friendly skies as well as the comraderie of his co-workers.

As an outdoor's man, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outside with his dogs. Bob was also an avid Chicago White Sox fan.

As it was Bob's wish cremation rites have been accorded.

A Memorial Visitation for Bob will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 10, 2024 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Rt 6 (at Deerpath Drive) in Morris.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10: 30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 E. Jackson St. in Morris.  Inurnment and committal prayers will take place after Mass at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
