Deborah Lynn Cassineri, passed away peacefully at her home in Gardner, IL, at the age of 67, on Friday, March 1, 2024, with the love of her family by her side. Debbie was born in Salem, OR, on December 6, 1956, the daughter of the late Claude Ellis and Margaret (nee Herman) Hurley. Debbie grew up in Joliet, IL, and attended Joliet Central High School. She retired in November 2023 as the Manager of the Casey’s in Channahon after 29 years of dedicated service.
Debbie had a selfless personality that always put the needs of everyone else ahead of her own. She was dedicated to the families and friends in her neighborhood, the customers and employees that she took care of at work every day, and above all, her family, including her feline companions. She loved spending time with those she loved.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Stanley Light) Cassineri; grandchildren, Cheyene Cassineri, Toni Cassineri, Ariel Sefcik, Zachery Sefcik, Amanda Cassineri, and Angelo Cassineri; great nieces and nephews that she was raising as her own, Aniyah Hurley and Lorenzo Casillas; siblings, Buster (Misty Rose) Hurley, Ellus (Erna) Hurley, and Barton (Rebecca) Hurley. Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She is preceded by her husband, Joseph Cassineri; her son, Anthony Joseph Cassineri; her parents; step-daughter, Lisa Sefcik; and her sister, Tonya Hurley Vining.
The family would like to thank Stanley Light, who took care of her around the clock with so much love and compassion.
Visitation for Deborah Lynn Cassineri will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
