Obituary of Joann Rivera

Joann Rivera, age 67, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur. Joann was born on February 11, 1957 in Joliet to the late Donald and Dorothy Rivera. She grew up in Joliet. Joann drove the school bus for the Reed-Custer Schools for many years. She loved camping, fishing, and time spent at the South Wilmington Sportsman’s Club. Most of all, she loved her family, and especially time spent with her grandchildren.

Joann is survived by her four sons, Jerry (Christina) Sukley, Jr., Mike (Beth) Sukley, Matt (Ashley) Sukley, and Mason (Annie Walsh) Sukley; her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dagan, Ryan, Liam, Paisley, and Clay (AKA Brutus); her sister, Joy (Tom) Davidson; and her brother, Doug Rivera.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Rivera; sister, Sandy Wilson; and brothers, David, Donald, and Michael Rivera.

As it was her final wish, cremation rites will be accorded, and private family services are to be held. Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet.
