I had the pleasure of working with Laura for 8 years in the front end at the Shorewood Jewel Osco. She was always so fun and easy to talk to. I remember we would laugh because she told me her sisters name was Donna (which is my name) and I have a sister named Laura. She was always so smiley and positive. It was always a bonus when both her and Shirley were working because the two of them made work extra fun. I am sad to hear of her passing. Laura was a wonderful person. My deepest condolences to her loved ones, family, and friends.

Laura, I will never forget your kind heart. You welcomed me and my goofy personality into your home daily growing up and put up with me always eating all of your orange sweet rolls! You enjoyed a good laugh and helped teach us about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and good skin! You were always the most beautiful woman in the room and I loved being your dancing partner at every wedding! I will miss you so much! I can only hope you are dancing in heaven now watching over all of us:)

I met Laura at Jewel in Shorewood. She was a very hard worker and committed to her health. She lived and talked about her children and Grandchildren that I felt like I knew them. Her love for them was amazing. Her fight with cancer she must of battled more than 100 percent. She was a fighter. Always an honest person and never talked bad about anyone. Her relationship with Shirley Wharrie was a gift. She will be missed. Rest in peace Laura❤️

It’s heartbreaking to know that Laura has passed. She means so much to so many people and that is a void which will never be filled. She loved her family and they loved her infinitely. She will be welcomed in Heaven but here on earth we will never forget her.

Our cul-de-sac neighbors became family. It won’t be the same without her. A fond memory I have of her is our curiosity of what it would be like to smoke a cigar. So we smoked a cigar together on my back deck and decided they smelled better than smoking one. Then we tried to stand on our heads up against the siding which we laughed and laughed about because we only made it to a tripod and couldn’t even hold that. I have such great memories of all of us in the court hanging out, Halloween or pool parties, playing Mad Gab or cards, our kids graduation parties and New Years Eve parties every year and dancing to Oldies. I loved Laura! I know she is peacefully home now with the Lord after such a determined fight to beat cancer. We are all at a loss but relieved she is not suffering anymore.

I met Laura at Jewel, where she and Shirley were my absolute favorites. When I had a little bump in my health, they sent me a special gift to cheer me up. I will never forget that kindness, and I endeavor to pass it forward. Laura and I bonded over our shared experiences and always encouraged each other. She was the sweetest person, so kind and gentle, and I will miss her dearly. Rest in peace, my friend, and breathe freely in your heavenly home.
