Obituary of Beverly R. Duranto

Beverly R. Duranto,  Age 95 at rest Saturday, April 6, 2024, peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born on March 22, 1929, in Joliet to John and Sadie (Amshl) Szopinski and raised in Crest Hill. She worked for Goldblatts and as a cashier at Kroger until her first child was born. 

She married Jack Duranto, Sr. on April 29, 1950, and together they raised 3 children. Beverly was a devoted wife and mother.  Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed yearly vacations with Jack and their children, traveling around the country, during summer breaks.  In later years, she and Jack got to travel with their daughter and youngest grandson, making cherished memories.

Preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2016 and their youngest son Robert  “Bob”  in 1985, and her brothers Richard (Lorraine) Szopinski and James (Marilyn) Sopinski.

She is survived by her son Jack Jr. (Theresa) and daughter Kathy Duranto-Huebner; grandchildren, Christopher and Jamie Duranto, Katherine and Elizabeth Miller, and Jürgen Huebner; and three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lightways Hospice, St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice in Beverly’s name.

Funeral Services will be held privately.
