Gina C. Lathrop
(nee Pavinato)

Gina C. Lathrop, passed away peacefully at her home in Joliet, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the age of 93, surrounded by the love of her family.  Gina was born in LaSalle, IL, on January 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Arturo and Maria (nee Candioto) Pavinato.  She was a graduate of LaSalle Peru High School. Gina was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Joliet, IL.

Gina was a hardworking woman who always took care of her family.  She enjoyed traveling the globe with her husband, and loved taking cruises.  Gina loved doing crossword puzzles and playing bingo.

Gina is survived by one daughter, Karen Baker of Joliet; four sons, Robert (Barbara) of Pittsburgh, PA, Thomas (Melanie) of Wilmington, IL, Patrick (Julie) of Houston,TX, and Christopher (Barbara) Lathrop of Orland Park, IL; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Anthony Pavinato.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

She is preceded by her husband, William R. Lathrop; her parents; and one brother, Geno Pavinato.

Funeral Services for Gina C. Lathrop will be held privately by the family. Interment took place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her late husband.
