Obituary of Rosario Roque Belarmino
Rosario Roque Belarmino, 78, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Rosario was born on August 20, 1945, in Manila, Philippines. She is the eldest out of nine children and the only daughter of Emilio and Regina Roque.
Rosario grew up in Pandacan, Metro Manila with her eight brothers. She attended Far Eastern University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and completed her certified public accountant (CPA) licensure. Rosario met her husband through her brother Eddie and immediately fell in love. On August 19, 1968, they married and moved to Taytay, Rizal where they had their five children. She worked at the Philippine National Bank for several years as an accountant before she immigrated with her family to the United States in 1984. She worked as a bank auditor for Federal and Metropolitan Bank in Cicero, IL. Near retirement age, she worked as a cashier at Sears in Oakbrook, IL where she retired.
Rosario was a loving wife and a dedicated mother, raising her five children. She was their biggest cheerleader and constant supporter. Rosario was described as quiet and reserved yet she is self-reliant when the occasion arises. Ruben left the Philippines several months ahead of time to secure a job in the US. Rosario stayed behind to care for their children and single-handedly prepared their children’s long journey to the US. On her free time, she loves to go to the cinema with her husband and visiting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Rosario was preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Regina, and her brothers; Rolly, Eddie, Rusty, Boy, Eton, and Gerry. She leaves behind her husband, Ruben Belarmino, her five children; Rubirosa Pacheco, Ronaldo Belarmino, Raymundo Belarmino, Rafael (Miquila) Belarmino, and Raquel Belarmino (Jeffrey Yonzon), her five grandchildren; Melissa Pacheco, Mario Pacheco, Isabella Belarmino, Gabriella Belarmino, and Benjamin Yonzon, her three great-grandchildren; Ethan, Ella, and Elias, and her two brothers; Abet and Rudy.
She was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
