Carmen B. Voitik (nee Eich)
Carmen B. Voitik, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Lightways Hospice Home surrounded by family. Carmen was born in Joliet and was a lifetime resident.
Carmen is survived by her children, Sarah (Erik) Wold, Karen (Rob) Lombardo, Richard (Julie) Voitik, Jr., Raymond (Misty) Voitik, Donald (Kelly) Voitik and Darrow Voitik (Wade Steinquist); nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (the late James) Ciarlette and Paula (the late George) Skiotes; one brother, Raymond J. (Pam) Eich; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years Richard F. Voitik, Sr.; her parents, Raymond J. and Darrow E. (nee Thompson) Eich; two sisters, Jackie (the late James) Fronek and Kay (the late Vince) Wilhelmi.
Carmen retired from the Plainfield School District where she enjoyed her role as lunchroom supervisor at Timber Ridge Middle School. She was previously employed at Illinois Bell, and in her younger years, the former Weber Dairy.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary of Cantigny Post VFW #367 and the CCW of St. Ambrose Parish.
Visitation for Carmen Voitik will be Monday, April 29, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Funeral services Tuesday, April 30, 2024, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Ambrose Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
