Obituary of Raymond R. Andreae
Raymond R. "Ray" Andreae, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Gardens of Park Pointe in Morris. Ray was born May 18, 1935, in Anchor, IL, the son of the late Chris and Elizabeth (nee Wilde) Andreae. He received his education in Anchor and FSW Forrest schools. Raymond proudly served in the United States Army between 1954 and 1956. In 1961, he graduated from Peoria Barber School.
In 1957, Raymond married Geri Burk in Colfax, IL and they had two children, Bruce Andreae and Karen McAleese; later he married Jeanette Sproul who had one son, Rodney Sproul.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Karen McAleese; stepson, Rodney Sproul; three grandchildren, Katie, Erin, and Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Miranda, Madison, Peyton, and Joshua.
He is preceded by his parents; his wife, Jeanette Andreae; his son, Bruce Andreae; brothers, Julius, Harold, Marvin, Ralph, and Ivan; and one sister, Viola.
Ray enjoyed gardening and antique tractors, he loved to travel and take his grandchildren on camping trips but most of all, he cherished time with family.
A Memorial Gathering for Raymond R. Andreae will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6, Morris, IL from 2 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 4 p.m. As it was Raymond's request, cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will take place at East Lawn Cemetery in Bloomington, IL.
