Joy Elaine Fowler
(nee Severson)

Joy Elaine Fowler, passed away at the age of 80, on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Edward Hospital in Naperville.  Joy was born in Morris, IL, on May 5, 1943, the daughter of the late Marion and Fay (nee Fisher).  Joy grew up in Joliet and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School.

In her free time, Joy enjoyed eating out at different restaurants with family and friends, testing her luck at the casino, and spending time with her sister traveling and taking annual trips up to Door County.  

Joy is survived by her sons, Robert (Angela) Fowler and Doug (Kelly) Fowler; four grandchildren, Courtney Breitenbucher, Analise Fowler, Emma (Mat) Rios, and Carlyn Fowler; one great-granddaughter, Charlie Torres; as well as one great-grandchild on the way. Joy is also survived by her siblings, Terry (Karen) Severson and Hazel (Phil) Gariboldi.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Fowler; and her parents.

Visitation for Joy Elaine Fowler will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following vistitation.
