Obituary of Michael Wayne Thrasher
Michael Wayne Thrasher, age 36, of Channahon, passed away suddenly, Friday, July 19, 2024, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
He was born September 13, 1987, in Pittsfield, IL, and was a graduate of Bluffs High School. He was employed by CPV Three Rivers Energy Center, Morris, where he was a Senior operator, maintenance technician, and safety committee chairman. Michael was also a board member of the Dale A. C.
An avid outdoorsman, Michael loved fishing, hunting, and boating. He also liked old trucks and a neat pour of Woodford Reserve.
He looked forward to the annual family vacation trip to Arkansas, as well as his yearly fishing trip to Minnesota. He could fix anything that he set his mind to, if he did not know, he would go to his friend YouTube.
Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband and father who cherished family time. He enjoyed a circle of friends of all ages who were just like family. He would step in to help anyone. He dearly loved his baby girl dog, Leah.
He will be remembered for his drive, determination, and work ethic, as well as his distinctive laugh, beautiful smile and beard, and ridiculous jokes. Michael truly lived to the belief, Family First and have fun.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Morgan (Stadler) Thrasher; three children, Blake (16), Sophia (5) and Cohen (2) Thrasher; his parents, Pam and Mike Shireman; his brothers and sisters, Billy (Hallie) Shireman, Lacey (Tony) Shaffer, Katie (Trevor) Stice and Justin (Brandi) Shireman, his wife’s parents, Lynn and James Stadler; his wife’s sister, Taylor (Aaron) Handlon; and many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Gathering for Michael Thrasher will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
Michael was a plain guy who was most comfortable in his Carhartt pants, t-shirts and boots. If you can or would like to wear this type of attire in honor of Michael it will be appropriate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be used as needed would be greatly appreciated.
