Obituary of Benita Ireland

Benita E. Ireland "Benny" (nee Coleman) Age 81, of Joliet, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her mother, Roxie Mae (nee Litz); father, Oliver Coleman; step-mother Ruth (nee Bandy) Coleman and her grandson, Matthew Binkley. Survived by her loving family; her husband of 58 years, Robert W. Ireland; daughter, Robin (Rick) Binkley; three grandchildren, Scott (Danielle) Binkley, Sarah (Eric) Cockream and Susan Binkley; two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Gabrielle Binkley; two sisters, Jeanette Medlock and Jessie Butler, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Over the years, Benny was active with several community groups and services, including the Girl Scouts, Lady Lions, Order of the Eastern Star, Wednesday Morning Bible Study, Ladies of the Elks and Crisis Line of Will County. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling to Maui, taking in the Hawaiian sunsets. Funeral Services for Benita E. Ireland will be Wednesday, April 29, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 19901 S. Houbolt Rd. (at W. Jefferson St.), Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Stained Glass Window Fund at Messiah Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
