Obituary of Sharon K. Kuriger

Sharon K. Kuriger, age 71, of Braceville, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at her home surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born November 14, 1952 in Cario, IL to the late Gladys and Elmer Barnwell.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Edward J. Kuriger; step-daughter, Blanca T. Sandoval; granddaughters, Tatiana T.  and Nasha T. Sandoval; sister, Charlotte A. Lang; brother,  James A. “Buddy” Barnwell; nieces and nephews, Tim Lang, Tami Matteson, Donna Lang, Allison Barnwell, Dale Barnwell, and Eric Barnwell; and many dear friends.

Sharon lived in Joliet for most of her life.  She worked at Dimitri’s Bar and Grill for many years.  After moving to Braceville, she assisted in the Deli at Berkot’s  Superfoods in Wilmington.  She enjoyed getting together with friends and family to play cards, mainly spades and euchre. 

Memorial Visitation for Sharon K. Kuriger will be Tuesday, August 20, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL.  Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery.
