Obituary of Charlene Hray
Charlene Hray, age 76, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Charlene was born on July 28, 1948 in Joliet to the late Victor and Olive Senffner. She was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Joliet Central, Class of 1967. She worked for nearly 40 years at the local McDonald’s on Jefferson & Stryker, making many friends with co-workers and customers. She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church, and particularly enjoyed helping with the Straight Arrows program. She had great fun thrift shopping with her friends. Her greatest love though was family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson, who she adored.
Charlene is survived by her children, John (Mistie) Hray, Stacy Hray, and Dennis (Carrie) Hray; her grandchildren, Joslyn, Parker, Eli, Conner, Myah, Morgan, Abby, Haley, Samantha, Jacob, Christopher, and Alyssa; her great-grandson, Zeke; sisters, Janet “Jeanie” (the late Gene) Brenczewski, Linda (William) Lee, and Laura (the late Joe) Hart; and sister-in-law, Barb Senffner.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Mona (Buddy) Wells; and brothers, Bob (Shirley) Senffner and David “Butch” Senffner.
Visitation for Charlene Hray will be Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington) Rd., Joliet. Funeral services will be the following morning, Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill.
