Jerry J. Muhich

Age 87, of Brooksville, Florida and formerly Joliet, Illinois, passed at home surrounded by family, Friday morning, August 30, 2024.

Jerry was born November 2, 1936 to the late Theresa (nee Bambic) and John Muhich.  He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School Joliet and Joliet Catholic High School.

He is the beloved husband of 60 years to Veronica (nee Welch) Muhich; loving father of the late Janet Muhich, Stephanie (Richard) Bogdan and Robert (Michelle) Muhich; devoted grandfather of Kylie (William) Stanley, Keeghan (Joshua) Payne, Samantha (Luke) Telese, Nicholas Bogdan and Benjamin Muhich; proud great-grandfather of Ezra, Liam and Seth Stanley, and Adeline Telese.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his daughter, parents and two sisters, Theresa (William) Gerencher and Josephine (Joseph) Bostanche.

Jerry was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He retired from U. S. Steel after 31 years of dedicated service.

Funeral services will be held Thursday September 5, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 416 N. Chicago St., Joliet where all friends and relatives can meet at 9:45 am. Jerry’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Interment following in St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Jerry’s name can be made to HPH Hospice of Florida or your local hospice.
