Obituary of Karin Maxisch

Karin Maxisch, age 83, of Winfield, IN, and formerly of Shorewood, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Loyola Medical Center. 

Karin was born April 30, 1941, in Germany, moving to Toronto, Canada in 1962 where she met her husband, later to Wisconsin, and eventually to Illinois.

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Karin will be remembered for her wonderful dry sense of humor, and for being a playful troublemaker often at the expense of her daughter, Nancy.  She projected a sense of style and class, always dressing her best and interacting with all she met with courtesy and politeness.  Karin also enjoyed crossword puzzles, soap operas, game nights with the family, and being with her beloved dog, Max. 

Karin is survived by her children, Nancy (Nicholas) Lloyd Winfield, IL, and Catherine (James Pitts) Maxisch of Oviedo, FL; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Shannon.

She is preceded by her husband, Engelbert J. Maxisch (2011); and her parents.

Services for Karin Maxisch will be private.  Interment will be in Risen Lord Cemetery in Oswego.  Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
