Obituary of Evan Eagle Hoard
Age 50 of Plainfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at his home. Evan was born in Hampton, VA, on May 2, 1974, the son of the late Betty (nee Westcott) and Ernest Edward Hoard. He attended Kecouoghtan High School and lived in Fox Hill, VA before moving to the Plainfield area.
Evan worked for Volkswagen Group of America as Quality Technical Manager/Field Engineer for over 25 years. As a car enthusiast, he had unparelled knowledge of cars. He also enjoyed boating.
As a good friend, Evan was always willing to help people. He adored being with his family. He was the smartest and greatest man they ever knew.
Evan is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Jennifer Anne Hoard; his children, Jillian Elizabeth (Zachary Zolnierowicz) and Ian Andrew Hoard; his grandson, Benjamin Adam Zolnierowicz; brother, Eric Hoard; and his in-laws, Philip Fritzlo and Daniel Anderson.
He is preceded in death by his son, Austin Hoard (2019) and his parents; brothers, Eliot E. and Ernst E. Hoard; sisters, Lisa Lou Hicks and Nina Nan Hoard; and mother-in-law Nancy Anderson
In lieu of flowers memorials in his name can be made to the charity of your choice.
Visitation for Evan Hoard will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet, on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Funeral Service to follow immediately at 4:00pm. As it was Evan’s wish, cremation rites will be accorded.
