Obituary of Sharon Ann Lorenz

Sharon Ann Lorenz, age 71, of Elwood, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 16, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

Born March 30, 1953 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Donald J. and Jeanette F. (McClintock) Breen, and was a graduate of St. Raymond Grade School and St. Francis High School with the Class of 1971.

Sharon was employed as Executive Assistant for former Will County Executive Larry Walsh, retiring in 2015.  She was previously a Teacher’s Assistant at Elwood Preschool.

Sharon was an avid reader and gardener who loved digging in the dirt.  Most of all, she loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed her friendship with her best friend, Debbie Heddins.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Roy Lorenz of Elwood; her children, Marjorie (Erika) Lorenz of Joliet, and Matthew (Jacquelyn) Lorenz of Morris; her grandchildren, Olive and Violet Lorenz, and Keagan, Jett and Krue Lorenz; a sister, Sue (James) Fritz of Channahon; and her mother-in-law, Patricia Lorenz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Roy Lorenz.

Visitation for Sharon will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., until the time of funeral services at 12:00 Noon, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
