Obituary of Anthony David Bianchi

Anthony David Bianchi

“Tony”

Anthony David Bianchi, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at his home in Ottawa, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born in Joliet, IL, on February 12, 1969, the son of David and Leann (nee Vollmer) Bianchi.

Tony graduated from Joliet West High School where he played football and was on the track team, and attended Joliet Junior College.  He worked as an installer repair technician for AT&T, where he later retired after 25 years of dedicated service. After retiring is when Tony found his true passion. For the last 5 years, he was strongly committed to his broadcasting career working for WCMY as a sports broadcaster and becoming a local community enthusiast. His passion for broadcasting began while attending concerts and DJing weddings and other local events. Being the proud father of two sons, he was either on the sideline as their biggest fan or was a dedicated coach, helping to motivate them to be the best they could be. Tony was proud of everything his son’s have accomplished.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Tracy (nee Ballantine) Bianchi; two sons, Dominic Bianchi and Anthony Bianchi, Jr.; his mother, Leann Bianchi; sister, Linda (David) Klimara; nephews, Steven (Diana) Klimara and Eric (Katlyn) Klimara; and great niece and nephews Sam, Ruby, and Levi; his father-in-law, David (Carol) Ballantine and mother-in-law, Cheryl Hughes.
