Richard D. Johnson, Jr.
"Rick"
Age 53, of Joliet, passed away suddenly, Monday, July 2, 2012.
Born February 20, 1959 in Joliet, Rick was a graduate of Joliet East High School, Class of 1977. For 20 years, he worked as an operating engineer for Local #150, also holding HAZMAT and pipeline certifications. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and served as the D. H. Activities Director, organizing several events for friends and family. In the last several years, Rick became well known for his D. H. for Hospice benefit event and his ongoing advocacy for Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Rick will be remembered for his generosity, upbeat and infectious spirit, and knack for hosting a really swell party.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (nee Crate) Johnson of Joliet; his mother, Millie Johnson of Morris; his father, Richard Johnson, Sr. of Joliet; one daughter, Katherine Goron of Joliet; two sisters, Marge (Stan Niehoff) Sunbom, and Marilou (Bill Horton) Kaluzny; three brothers, Rob (Carol Sanchez) Johnson, Ray Johnson, and Russ Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services for Rick Johnson will be Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at:
