Obituary of Edward Banach
Banach, Edward F.
Age 81, of Joliet, passed away suddenly Friday, September 7, 2012 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
Born July 19, 1931 in Joliet to the late Julia (nee Bolek) and Frank Banach. He was a lifetime resident of Joliet. A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and Lewis College. Ed was also a US Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
Beloved husband of 53 years to Georgia (nee Plese) Banach; Loving father of Susan Kambic, David (Tracy), Dennis and Robert Banach. Proud grandfather of Emily Kambic; Cody and Stephanie Banach. Also surviving is Ann "Amzie" Kolakowski, Ed's dear aunt.
Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Theresa Cemeno.
Ed was employed for 15 years at Joliet Township High School, West Campus, and previously employed by Brown and Lambrecht as well as U.S. Steel for many years. Hobbies included fishing, golfing, gardening, dining out and playing cards; euchre, pinnochle and solataire to name a few.
Edward was a loving husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. He will be missed by all.
Funeral services for Edward F. Banach will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2012, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-8 p.m. at:
