Vida A. Kambic
(nee Panian)
Age 94. At rest Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Deerbrook Care Centre. Born November 12, 1912 in Crest Hill, she was a lifetime Joliet area resident. A retired receptionist from the former Lewis Brothers Shoe Store in downtown Joliet. She was an avid reader, and a diehard White Sox fan.
Surviving are her son, Larry (Beverly) Kambic of Oglesby, IL; one daughter, Elaine (James) Bishop of Elwood; five grandchildren, Kurt (Susan) Kambic, Lori (Mark) Berman, Keith (Laura) Kambic, James "Jay" (Patricia) Bishop and Jennifer (Jason) Worden; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (Robert) Lissy, and Dorothy (late Ray) Vollmer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, William L. Kambic; one son, William F. Kambic; five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services for Vida A. Kambic will be Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice for their kind and gentle care of Vida and her family. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. at:
