(nee McEvilly)
Age 62. Passed away peacefully at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago on September 28, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Married to Raymond Kapsch, November 2, 1974. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a graduate of Minooka High School (Class of 1968). Retired from the City of Joliet after 37 years of service. She served as treasurer of Zonta Club of Joliet, Whiteford Baseball and AFSCME.
She had a love for all sports and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Notre Dame and Chicago Bulls. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.
Survivors include her loving sons, James and Thomas (Karen); grandson, Mark; mother, Anne (Clennon) McEvilly; her seven devoted siblings, Patrick (Linda) McEvilly, Kathleen (James) Cox, Peggy McEvilly-Reed, Kevin (Meg) McEvilly, Marilou (Mike) Carr, Brian (Denise) McEvilly and Kelly (Nicholas) Galatte. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Neil and Darren McEvilly, Jamie and Shannon Cox, Robb and Natalie Reed, Molly and Shane McEvilly, Jonathan (Brittany) and Mallory Carr, Brianna McEvilly, Samantha and Colin Otis, Bryce and Gavin Galatte, Eric, Tracie, Becky, Rachelle and Jamie. Sister in-law of Robert Kapsch and Donna (Ray) Kunke. Numerous cousins, friends and her beloved dog Quincy also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kapsch (1983); her father, James L. McEvilly; nephews, Ryan Reed and Andrew Carr (2012).
We grieve today for we all have lost a special lady, who touched the lives of many people with her hardworking ethic, her zest for life and witty sense of humor. Although she left us much too soon, Colleen fought a good fight with all her Irish might and has taught us all to treasure life everyday.
Funeral Services for Colleen M. Kapsch will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Minooka for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday 2-8 p.m. at:
