Obituary of Laurie Kemble

Laurie J. Kemble nee Merrick Age 49, of Morris, passed away suddenly, August 11, 2010. She was born July 27, 1961 in Joliet, IL, Laurie also resided in California for several years, returning to Morris, Illinois and making Morris home the past 14 years. Survived by her beloved daughter Katherine "Katie" Merrick of Morris; her parents Robert and Joan (nee Sienko) Merrick of Morris; brother Thomas (Teresa) Merrick of San Diego, CA. She was a proud aunt of Megan, Robert and Zoe Merrick. Also survived by her maternal grandparents Edward (Irene) Sienko of Connecticut; uncle Donald (Ann) Merrick of New Jersey as well as several cousins. Preceded in death by her paternal grandparents John and Margaret (nee Dow) Merrick. Laurie will fondly be remembered as a loving and caring soul who always put others first. Her interests were reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a private caregiver who enjoyed flowers and birdwatching. As it was Laurie's wish, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to her family, We Care, or in light of Laurie's generous spirit, bestowing an act of kindness upon a loved one, friend, or perhaps even a stranger, would also be a wonderful way to honor her.
