Obituary of Raymond Biskie

Raymond F. Biskie, Sr. Age 67, of Wauponsee Township, passed away peacefully, exactly where he wanted to; in his home on Oxbow farm, with family surrounding him on Sunday, June 9, 2013. Ray was born July 13, 1945 in Berwyn, IL to the late Frances "Fran" and Francis "Frank" Biskie. He was raised in Joliet, attending St. John Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School. Beloved husband of 31 years to, Lynn; loving father of, Raymond, Jr., Phyllis Elaine Rhodes, Mary Ann Melby, Benjamin (fiancee Crystal Jeffries), Matthew (Jessica), Joseph, Jonathan (fiancee Leslie Baker) and Aaron Biskie; also a proud grandpa of several, and great grandpa of one; also survived by two brothers, William (Patricia) and Thomas (Laura) Biskie as well as several nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by his parents. Ray was an electrician for many years and member of the IBEW Local #176, where he was known as "Bear". He truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially the farm and making his produce and farm fresh eggs available to the surrounding community to enjoy. Visitation for Raymond F. Biskie, Sr. will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Dr., Morris, IL 60450. As it was Ray's wish, cremation rites will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to We Care of Grundy County, Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, or the American Transplant Foundation would be appreciated.
