As Brad's Uncle, I too had the pleasure of seeing Brad grow up to be a fine young man. His Granfather "PaPa" give each grand child a nick name, Brad was given "Tanker", always charging ahead, and of course getting into trouble, as kids do. Our skiing days, he was the "Hot Dog" along with his brother Greg "Bunkie". I could go on and on, but it all boils down to the most important thing of his life, his wonderful wife Dawn. Dawn, made his life complete in many ways, foremost, giving him 2 (two) beautiful daughters. At the cemetery, I wore his grandfather's jacket, so "PaPa" could be part of the ceremony. In closing, I was told Brad had about 40 employees that worked iwht him at the visitation. That tells you what type of a man he was, never negative to anyone, and willing to help. As always with love Uncle Chuck.

Dear Dawn and Family, My parents, Dan and Aljean Brown, were lifelong friends of Brad's parents, Art and Lyla. When my parents moved to IL, and Art and Lyla visited you and Brad, that was the occasion that we all met you and Brad at your home. We enjoyed getting to know your family so much. It was clear to us how much love and happiness was shared in your family. We remember eating Brad's delicious barbecue at your home that day. We are so sorry and saddened to learn of Brad's passing and please know that our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

As Brad's older sister, I knew Brad all his life. I had some of the typical firstborn characteristics and he had some of the middle child stereotypes. We shared many good times, making blanket forts, sledding, dying Easter eggs and had our share of typical sibling disagreements. Being boy and girl, we did different things, I played piano, he played sports, I dusted, he cut the grass, of which I was always jealous until I tried it ONCE and got over that! Once I left for college we never lived the same place again but would keep in touch by phone. Before Brad met Dawn, he was talking to me one time, feeling a little down and said, Gail, I don't have huge dreams of making millions or being famous, I just want a family, a wife and kids who love me and I can love. Brad's dream was fulfilled by Dawn, Jenna and Kimi. He loved them dearly and they loved and love him. His life's purpose here on earth has been fulfilled though we wish he could have stayed longer. I am forever grateful to Dawn, Jenna and Kimi and to all who know and love them and will continue to be Brad's hands and feet for them in his absence.

I had the privilege of working on valves with Brad at Braidwood. He was a friend to all at Braidwood station. I remember taking Kaitie to a daddy daughter Valentine dance, she immediately took off to have fun with her friends. It was a little uncomfortable to be standing there alone. Then I spotted a familiar face. Brad was there with his daughter Jenna, so we sat together while the girls danced and had fun. Our Thoughts and prayers are with the Gebhardt Family.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Gebhardt family. I worked with Brad at Braidwood in the Engineering Department for many years. I was so saddened to learn of his passing. He was a great person to work with and will be missed by all. I too lost my husband suddenly at the age of 56 and I know the shock and pain that you are all going through. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
