Obituary of Arthur Vaksdal

Arthur V. Vaksdal "Bud" Age 74 , of Joliet, IL, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Born in Joliet, the son of the late Arthur and Virginia (nee Olson) Vaksdal, he was a lifelong resident. Graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1959 and received his bachelors degree in science from Roosevelt University. Retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1999, following 35 years of service. Member of the Machinist and Aerospace Union of Joliet. An avid stamp and coin collector. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years Ann (nee Maierhofer) Vaksdal of Joliet, 4 children; Sherri (Rick) Morgan of Shorewood, David of Joliet, James (Trudi) of Joliet and Kristina Hernandez of Channahon. Devoted Papa of Matthew, Daniel, Brandon, Amanda, Abby and Amy Morgan, Krystal and Racheal Hernandez, Skyy Siejko, Autumn Sopko, Anthony, Jacob and Robert Ogden, Alexia and April Vaksdal; his sister Sondra "Cindy" Sukley of Joliet; his sister-in-law, Lois Jean Mance of Crest Hill, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Bud will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 9:15 a.m, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds. Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Church for Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Enshrinement Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
