Charlotte, I’m so very sorry to hear about Vern. He was an amazing man the touched the hearts of everyone in my family. I remember seeing him walking in Hammel Woods every day. I am so glad I had the honor of getting to know him and gaining his friendship. I looked forward to his cheerful greetings every morning. Even my Boxer Otis loved him and would expect a pat on the head. Everyone who were regulars on that trail loved Vern. I will pray for you and him. He will be truly missed. I really wish I could have one more walk in the park with him. I’m sorry I missed his services as I was out of town. God bless.

I worked for Vern a few years back in the early 70's. Vern was not only very easy to talk to, he listened and was considerate. I often wondered where he was hanging his hat and if we would meet at one of the company's outings. I am sure heaven could use a good man like Vern .
God Bless,

We send loving prayers and our sincere condolences to Charlotte, Lorraine and family of Vern. Vern was very special to our family as he was our Dad's (Bill Powers) best friend.
Vern has seen our family throughout the years through every special moment in our personal lives. Vern and our father traveled together, worked together and shared their families together.
We will miss Vern very much but we know he is now with our Dad, Bill Powers, and the two of them are talking old stories. Their souls are reunited and we share in this experience with you.
Sending many prayers this week along with our sincere love for Vern to your family.

Vern was such a terrific neighbor and good person. Always watching our kids and others have fun and ready to answer their questions or just enjoy their company. Our best to Charlotte and the Stemke family. Vern will be missed.
