Janice M. Donovan

At the age 77, Janice Donovan, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Regency Care of Morris with her loving husband by her side.

Born January 6, 1941 she was the daughter of Ken and Annabelle Schmidt. Janice was a longtime resident of Palos Heights, before relocating to Morris in 2017. Formerly employed at Ashland Chemical Company in Columbus, Ohio as a secretary before she met her husband, “Pete”. After they were married they lived in Wonder Lake, IL and Mentor, OH before moving to Palos Heights almost 40 years ago. Janice loved her gardens. She enjoyed traveling with her husband around the Great Lakes and East Coast to see lighthouses. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Pete Donovan of Morris; three daughters Anne (Joel) Losch of Round Lake, IL, Mary (Chris) Brittain of Lee, MA, and Patricia (Robert) Beezhold of Portage, IN; four grandchildren, Kelly, Ryan, Abby and Nathan Beezhold; 3 sisters Marlene (Tom) Glomski of Phoenix, AZ, JoAnne (the late Tom) Stattlemann of Pine River, MN and Rosie (the late Leroy) Brau of Redwood Falls, MN; one brother Allan (Carol) Schmidt of Marshall, MN one brother-in-law Ken Gjerde of Minneapolis, MN, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Gen Gjerde; and brother, Gordon Schmidt.

Funeral services for Janice Donovan will be Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 E. Jackson Street, Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Cremation rites will be accorded following her funeral services and interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
