Obituary of Magdelana Surges

Magdelana Surges passed away, at the age of 69, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.  She has joined her husband, Arthur Surges, in Heaven. She was born on May 28, 1952. Maggie is survived by her loving sister, Anna Hanecker; her daughters, Erica Beard and Samantha Surges; her grandchildren, Winter Beard, Isabelle Beard, and Aurora Surges.

Maggie worked at Edward’s Hospital for 25 years. Eventually, she couldn’t resist the call to become a teacher. She went back to school to pursue her dream and spent many years inspiring young minds.  She was a very creative person and turned her crafts into a business for many years.  She loved gardening and went blueberry picking almost every year.  Maggie loved to spend time with her friends, camp with the family, and spend weekends at Starved Rock.  She was a caring, compassionate, and dedicated wife, sister, & mother.

Family and friends affected by the loss of Maggie Surges are invited to a Memorial Visitation, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2021, at the Fred C.
