I was so saddened in learning of the passing of my longtime friend, Tom Engelman. I first met Tom in 1957 when our families first moved into the new townhouses on Van Buren St. in Chicago. Tom and Cathy have been good friends for most of my life and I sure will miss Tom.
I am so glad that I made the effort to Visit Tom and Cathy during my last trip to Chicago (last August). Cathy; Please know that Tom will always have a special place in my heart!

Both I and Halina were so deeply sorry to hear of Tom's unexpected passing, I shall always remember him as a dear classmate from our days together at Cathedral High Schoo (Class of 1964) and the memorable times shared during those days of our youth. I shall of most recent times remember the wonderful moments shared socially with Tom and his devoted spouse Cathy at our annual class reunion dinners we shared each September in recent years.
Tom was a proud Veteran, whose service and bravery will be remembered always, he was a kind and caring individual who was totally devoted to his family and many friends, I was blessed to be one of them, he will be sorely missed among us and we send our deepest condolences to Cathy and his family at this sad and difficult time.
With Deepest Sympathy

759-8107, my favorite Bolingbrook phone number was always answered by people I’ve always cherished. Family who allowed me into their family and they served the best corn at dinner ever. Tents in the backyard, swimming whenever and basketball on the driveway was the best in the area. Tom and Cathy treated me like a son from day one, I’ll never forget it. Tom introduced me to golf which would have never happened without him. Vacations in Michigan and always room for Paul on the way to a sporting event crystallizes how much they did for me. I will regret Mr Englemans passing because of how close I know his family is. We should all be that close. I’m sorry Cathy, Julie, Joe and Jason for not being closer over the years. Please know I’m crying with you now.
