Obituary of Thomas H. Engelman

Age 75 of Channahon, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Hines V.A. Hospital. He was born in Chicago, the son of the late Ernest and Annamae (Wiora) Engelman, formerly of Bolingbrook and residing in Channahon the past 16 years.  Tom graduated from Cathedral High School in Chicago with the class of 1964.  He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving as M.P.  He retired from Transport One as an operations manager, formerly employed by Willett Trucking and Lancaster Transportation.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Catherine (Oester) Engelman of Channahon; three children, Julie (Alex) Paramo of Minooka, Joseph Engelman of Channahon and Jason (Karri Algana) Engelman of Channahon; 5 grandchildren, Cameron, Jace, Austin, Hayley and Allison. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Tom is preceded by his parents; and his brother, Ron Engelman. 

Visitation for Thomas H. Engelman will be Monday, April 11, 2022 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, from 3:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Ann Catholic Church, 24500 S. Navajo Dr., Channahon, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be held privately by the family at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
