You might not remember
the first day we met, or even today.
It’s hard to recall all the card games we played, the flowers we planted, the bus rides we went on,the songs we sang.
The friendship bracelets we made for each other.
Anybody familiar with you would be able to guess what color you asked for.
Mine was initially green, but they both look blue to me now.
Or all the times you called out “BINGO!!”, with your whole heart. Similar to the way you called out “My Friend!” When you saw people. You made everyone feel loved,
Especially me.
You probably don’t remember meeting my mom, but she remembers you. She asks each day when I return from work, “how is your friend?”
I am praying she forgets to ask that today
I guess I just wanted to remind you, that I appreciate you. The way you didn’t leave anybody out, the way you let everyone go ahead of you. The way you loved everyone, even those who were mean to you. I have learned so much in our time together, my friend.
You might not remember, but I’ll never forget .
