Obituary of Joseph Chmura
Joseph S. Chmura, age 74, passed away January 10, 2024. Joseph was born April 17, 1949 to the late Chester and Madeline (nee Kozlowski) Chmura.
Joseph worked for United Parcel Service and retired after 27 years. He worked for Scottish Home in Riverside, Illinois as a transport driver and maintenance.
As a member of the Illinois Live Steamers, Joseph enjoyed building trains and spreading his love of trains to any willing participant. He practiced martial arts, played the banjo, and enjoyed playing golf. He was a talented wood carver and woodworker, a trained artist.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his daughters, Susan (Benjamin) Reeves and Amanda Chmura; grandchildren, Autumn, Nathan and Kira; brothers, Jim (Ginna) Chmura and Tom (Cathy) Chmura.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Habben.
At his request, cremation rites have been accorded and friends and relatives are invited to join together to celebrate Joseph’s life on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2 p.m. until time of services at 5 p.m.
